Sustainable Farming Incentive

Sustainable Farming Incentive standards, payment rates and how to prepare…

Defra have released details giving more detail on the Sustainable Farming Incentive which launches in June.

The standards and rates that have been released so far include

Arable and Horticultural soils standard

Introductory level £22 per hectare

Intermediate level £40 per hectare

Improved Grassland soils standard

Introductory level £28 per hectare

Intermediate level £58 per hectare

Moorland standard

Introductory level only £10.30 per hectare plus additional £265 per agreement

There is an additional £6.15 per hectare for common land with its own agreement.

A roadmap is also available to show when additional standards and levels are to be introduced in the coming years.

Applications will be made through the RPA, there will be no deadline, applications will be processed throughout the year and all farmers who are eligible for BPS will be able to apply for the Sustainable Farming Incentive.

Land which is already in a Countryside Stewardship application will be eligible as long as the actions are compatible and they won’t pay twice for a similar activity.

We would be happy to help submit applications once the process opens in June, please let us know if you are interested on 01884 839980 or enquiries@batemanhosegood.co.uk
