Kevin Bateman

Kevin is a qualified Chartered Surveyor, Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers and a member of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants. Kevin specialises in a number of professional practice areas including Landlord and Tenant issues, Farm Business Management, Environmental Stewardship Schemes and Planning matters. Kevin is secretary of the Western Counties Agricultural Valuers Association (WCAVA) and an examiner for the Western Counties Examination Group. Kevin is also a panel member of the Agricultural Lands Tribunal (ALT).

David Hosegood

David is a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers. He is the third generation of his family in this business, following on behind his grandfather, Stanley, and his father, Jack. He began his professional career with Bruton Knowles in Gloucester, returning to the family business on Exmoor after the 1967/68 Foot and Mouth outbreak. He has been working on Exmoor and the surrounding area ever since.

Julie Bateman

Julie is a Director of Bateman Hosegood and runs the accounts department, she project manages developments within the business as well as supporting our busy team. When she is not in the office Julie is farming, supporting her family or enjoying the countryside. Julie was a Primary School Teacher for 15 years, a Forest School Leader and has been heavily involved in Educational Access on farms.

Lauren Sanders

Lauren lives on the family run dairy farm in Mid Devon and still fits in the odd milking around work. She studied Agriculture at Hartpury College and then completed a degree in Rural Land Management at the Royal Agricultural University. Lauren’s role as a Rural Consultant includes assisting clients with a wide range of projects specialising in rural planning and grant applications.

Lucy Gill

Lucy grew up on Exmoor so brings a wealth of knowledge of the countryside with her and is very much a country girl at heart, enjoying all country pursuits. Lucy is an Apprentice Rural Surveyor who is studying a degree in Rural Estate Management at Harper Adams University. This involves going to university 8-9 weeks of the year, the rest of the time working hard either in the office or on farm. Lucy is very much a social person and when not in the office you will find her enjoying her time with friends and family

Harriet Latchford

Harriet grew up on a mixed farm on Dartmoor and studied Business Management and Marketing at The Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester. Having worked for years in advertising agencies in the UK and Amsterdam on brands such as Volvo Cars, Land Rover and Harpic, Harriet brings a wealth of Marketing and Project Management experience to the team.

Hattie Harley

Hattie grew up on Exmoor and studied Agricultural Business, graduating with a degree from Harper Adams University in 2023. Following her FACTS qualification in 2025, Hattie can assist you with Nutrient & Soil Management Plans, NVZ Record Keeping, Farm Business Advice, Grant/Scheme Processes, as well as EWCO applications and woodland matters.

Stacey Bosley

Stacey grew up in West Somerset and studied Building Surveying, graduating from the University of the West of England. She completed her training as Project Surveyor in local government and after a short career break to start her family, ventured into a role as a Freelance Planning Consultant. Over the last 10 years she has gained invaluable experience in dealing with a wide variety of rural planning applications with many successful outcomes across Somerset and Devon. Stacey is an experienced CAD draftsman, which will ensure the team are seamless in the production of planning applications.

Sam Davey

Sam is a Graduate Farm Consultant and studied Agriculture with Farm Business Management at Harper Adams University. Sam is qualified as a FACTS advisor who can help you with nutrient management on your farm. Sam brings great agricultural knowledge to the team having grown up on a family farm in Mid-Devon. Whether you are looking to analyse cost of production, change enterprise mix, or have any general business enquiries Sam is here to help.

Emily Wray

Emily has joined the team on a year’s placement from Harper Adams University. Emily is currently studying Environmental Land Management and is looking forward to broadening her experience in professional services, especially valuations and environmental grants. Emily grew up in West Somerset and outside the office enjoys countryside pursuits and spending time with her horses — which first inspired her passion for land management.

Naomi Cant

Originally from a beef and broadacre cropping farm in Australia, Naomi brings a wide range of hands-on agricultural experience, including cotton ginning and pearl grading. She holds a Journalism degree from Bond University and has worked in agricultural media, specialising in podcast production. Now a PA and Graduate Trainee at Bateman Hosegood, Naomi is enthusiastic about deepening her knowledge of UK agriculture and supporting the team across a variety of rural projects.

Charlie Ford

Charlie grew up in Surrey and relocated to Somerset nine years ago, giving him a strong network of contacts and a deep understanding of the countryside. Charlie lives on a farm predominantly focused on horses, alongside a herd of Red Devon cattle, and has a keen interest in a range of rural and country pursuits. He is currently an apprentice rural surveyor, studying for a degree in Rural Estate Management at Harper Adams University. His programme involves attending university for 8–9 weeks each year, with the remainder of his time spent gaining practical experience in a professional setting. Charlie works primarily with Wellshead Natural Capital, working closely with landowners and developers to facilitate the creation and sale of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) units.

John Osborne

John grew up in the South West, and has always had a strong connection to the countryside and passion for agriculture. He holds a degree with honours in Agri-Business from the Royal Agricultural University, alongside a foundation degree in Agriculture and Farm Management. John’s experience spans agricultural contracting in both the UK and New Zealand, as well as roles in farm consultancy and rural agency. This background provides a well-rounded understanding of modern farming businesses, land management and the rural property market. He brings a practical and client-focused approach to all aspects of rural professional work.
